Gratitude.

Missing life in the field, I was honored when the bosses asked if I would go live at the University of Arizona's USS Arizona Mall Memorial for the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

There are 1,177 medallions with the names, rank, state, and age of each man who died on the USS Arizona right in the heart of campus. It was barely 5:30 a.m., dark, 40 degrees outside, and there was a man who was paying respect by reading each medallion with care.

So, we spoke with Sgt. First Class Lee Jackson. Here's a clip.

Here's more information about the medallions sitting within the U of A Mall:

And last but certainly not least, we found the medallion for the one Tucsonan who died in the Pearl Harbor attack, James Van Horn, 17 years old.
